Baloch want UK to sever ties with Pakistan over rights violations

Baloch people living in the UK protest opposite British Prime Minister’s Rishi Sunak’s official residence at 10 Downing Street, London, on 27 March 2024 on the anniversary of the invasion of their homeland by the Pakistani Army on the same date in 1948.

Jamal Baloch, head of the foreign affairs department of Free Baloch Movement (FBM) said that Pakistan illegally occupied Balochistan and is committing severe human rights violations against his community. The diaspora has gathered in front of the British Prime Minister’s residence to impress upon the British government to sever ties with Pakistan over the denial of civil liberties to the Baloch people.

The Baloch diaspora in the UK has been active in creating visibility for their cause. Their advocacy spans meetings with British MPs and visiting European nations to rally for independence. Many of these activists have fled Pakistan after facing arrests, intimidation & torture.
